Francine Tint: Life in Action

This scholarly volume, published to accompany the exhibition at the National Arts Club, examines how Francine Tint’s recent work reimagines the legacy of Abstract Expressionism and Color Field painting for the twenty-first century. Curator Robert C. Morgan’s essay reveals how Tint’s dynamic approach to large-scale abstraction—combining spontaneous paint pours with deliberate drawing and collage—generates compositions that transcend historical precedent through their synthesis of gestural energy and chromatic sophistication. Through careful analysis of twelve recent paintings, the catalogue demonstrates how Tint's artistic evolution has culminated in what Morgan terms “new age expressionless forms.”
